Latin America set for Renewables Growth

The presence of some of the world's best wind, solar and bio-fuel resources promises to rapidly accelerate growth of the renewable energy sector in Latin America in the coming years, according to industry commentators.

In fact, parts of the region have long relied on sustainable fuel and energy – bio-fuels and hydro power in countries such as Brazil and Costa Rica being notable examples.

Before we take a short summer break from this Biofuels series, in this blog we focus on one of the most exciting regions of the entire global biofuels industry: Latin America.

Latin America is certainly doing its part to keep up with the latest biofuels research and rollout. Brazil is, after all, one of the world's top producers of ethanol, and in January 2015 Boeing and Embraer launched a collaborative research center for the development of sustainable aviation biofuel research in order for Brazil to remain on the cutting edge of biofuels with renewable aviation fuel . . . no surprise there.
