A new study released by the National Center for Atmospheric Research suggests that we need to cease greenhouse gas emissions by 2085 on a global level. The equivalent of 50 gigatons of carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere annually.

May was Hottest Month on Record and Carbon Dioxide Reaches its Highest Levels in Antarctica.

Global temperatures are increasingly rising, at an alarming and worrying rate. According to scientists, temperatures in May were the hottest on record. June was the 13th month in a row that recorded temperatures has been higher than the above average. In the month of May the levels of Carbon dioxide in the Antarctica also saw a record rise.

G7 Nations Pledge For End Of Fossil Fuel Age by 2100

The G7 group of wealthy democracies—whose carbon dioxide emissions total 25% of the world’s output—committed in a meeting in Germany on June 8th 2015, to binding targets that address the issue of climate change.

In a leaders' declaration issued at the meeting in Krün, the G7 pledged taking a step closer to their committed targets of: phasing-out of fossil fuels, transformation of electric generation toward renewables and nuclear, and limiting the rise in average global temperatures to maximum of 2°C over pre-industrial levels — all to be achieved by the end of this century.
