Carbon Dioxide Converted to Fuel

Posted on Sep 18, 2017 12:34:00 PM

Scientists are taking a lead from nature as they explore ways to eliminate CO2 from the atmosphere.

Labs around the world are searching for a method to use photosynthesis to produce fuels using little more than sunlight and the CO2.

Nature’s Way - Turning Greenhouse Gas into Fuel

Posted on Jan 2, 2017 6:35:00 AM

Scientists are taking a leaf from nature's book in an effort to convert atmospheric CO2 into a usable fuel.

In a process that seems too good to be true they are experimenting on turning carbon dioxide (CO2) into carbon monoxide (CO), a more volatile gas that can then be converted relatively easily into fuel.

In so doing, they hope to solve two problems in one go – firstly by removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere they help tackle climate change, and secondly, they can create new clean energy alternatives.
